## How to edit a PDF online

1. **Open a file** Click "Choose a PDF", drop PDFs or images onto the page, or just paste them. The file is read inside your browser and never uploaded.
2. **Edit and annotate** Pick "Edit existing text" and click a line to rewrite it, or mark up with text, highlight, underline, signature, shapes and pen. Find & replace works on the whole document.
3. **Arrange pages** Drag thumbnails on the left to reorder; right-click to copy, paste, delete or move up/down. You can also rotate, insert blank pages, add other PDFs to merge, and number pages in one click.
4. **Export** Click "Export PDF" and choose all pages, the current page or a custom range such as 1-3,5,8-10. You get a new file with no watermark.

## FAQ

### Is my file uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser, and once a document is open, editing and exporting keep working offline.

### Can I change the text already in a PDF?

Yes. "Edit existing text" covers the original with the background color and places new text at the same spot. The original text stays in the file underneath, so this is not a way to redact sensitive content.

### Does Chinese text export correctly?

Yes. Latin text uses standard PDF fonts and common Chinese characters are embedded as a Noto Sans SC subset, so the exported text stays real, selectable and searchable; only rare characters missing from the font fall back to an image.

### Are encrypted PDFs supported?

You need the open password; the exported file is not encrypted.

### Do I lose my edits if I close the page?

Not right away. While there are unexported changes, the editor keeps the document and your edits in this browser (never uploaded) so you can restore them next time. They are cleared once you export or close the document, and kept for 30 days at most. Passwords of encrypted PDFs are not stored.

### Is it free? Is there a watermark?

It is free, needs no sign-up, and exported files carry no watermark. Everything runs on your own computer, so how large a file you can handle and how fast depends on your device and browser memory.

### Can I edit text in a scanned PDF?

Not directly. A scan has no text layer, so "Edit existing text" has nothing to pick, and there is no OCR yet. Use a cover box to hide the old content and add new text on top.

### Which browsers and devices are supported?

Use a recent version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari; a computer gives the best experience. Phones and tablets can open it, but editing is designed for mouse and keyboard and is less comfortable on small screens.
